YES! Rock The School: Preparing Young Malaysians for Career Success through AI Innovation Talk by Ts. Nicholas Morgan

The YES! Rock The School initiative has taken a significant step toward preparing young Malaysian students for future career success. This dynamic program, aimed at students aged 15-18, is designed to provide the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive in a rapidly evolving job market. By collaborating with strategic industry and academic partners, YES! empowers students to make informed decisions about their education and future careers, with a particular focus on skilled and TVET-related jobs.

As part of this initiative, Ts. Nicholas Morgan, Northern Region Business Head at VASTIQ Solutions, delivered an engaging presentation on AI innovation, exploring how artificial intelligence is shaping the future workforce. Partnering with Mr. Narin from Securight Sdn Bhd, Ts. Nicholas provided insights into the latest AI technologies and how they are transforming industries, giving students a glimpse of the future job landscape.

The event, attended by approximately 1,200 students from various Penang schools, proved to be an exciting and interactive platform for learning. Ts. Nicholas' presentation focused on real-world AI applications, providing students with a better understanding of how AI is driving change in industries ranging from healthcare to manufacturing. The students were exposed to AI’s role in problem-solving, automation, and the creation of new job opportunities, all crucial for those considering careers in tech-driven fields.

YES! Rock The School also highlighted the importance of early awareness in nurturing interests and skills that are relevant to future careers. The program’s wide array of activities, including workshops, career talks, and interactive sessions, created an environment where students could explore different career paths, learn essential skills, and understand current versus future workforce trends.

A key takeaway from Ts. Nicholas' talk was the need for adaptability and innovation in an AI-driven world. By inspiring the students with his in-depth knowledge and practical insights, Ts. Nicholas helped equip them with the mindset and motivation to pursue careers in AI and related fields.

The session with Ts. Nicholas and Mr. Narin exemplified the initiative’s goal of advocacy for diversity, equity, and inclusion in the Malaysian workforce, and it provided valuable guidance in career decision-making. Through tools like MyNext Profiling and MyCOL, students were encouraged to consider their strengths and how they can align their educational choices with future career opportunities.

YES! Rock The School continues to be a cornerstone for career readiness in Penang, contributing significantly to the development of a future-ready Malaysian workforce.
